Editing and Regeneration

Update slide copy and regenerate narration without re-recording voiceovers.

Audience: user

Goal

Ship updates quickly by regenerating only what changed.

Safe Edit Workflow

  1. Duplicate timeline when making major revisions.
  2. Edit slide text/narration in small batches.
  3. Regenerate audio for edited slides only.
  4. Re-render and compare output.

What Usually Requires Regeneration

  • Narration text changes.
  • Voice/provider/speed/pitch changes.
  • Pronunciation rewrites.

What Usually Does Not Require Full Rework

  • Minor visual polish on unaffected slides.
  • Reordering slides without narration changes (validate transitions).

Change Management Pattern

Small update (1-3 slides)

  1. Edit affected slides.
  2. Regenerate those slides.
  3. Quick render and QA.

Medium update (multiple sections)

  1. Apply section-by-section edits.
  2. Regenerate by section.
  3. Run full render before publish.

Major update (new version)

  1. Clone timeline.
  2. Apply all changes in clone.
  3. Full regeneration + full QA.
  4. Replace old published link only after approval.

Regression Checklist

  1. Slide order still matches narrative flow.
  2. Timing transitions remain natural.
  3. End screen CTA still accurate.
  4. No outdated references remain.
